All people, who are interested in design and art, anticipate Salone del mobile every year, which takes place in Milan, Italy. Through this event, they find out all about the new trends, new designers, and get to know about the latest collections presented by the most famous people in the field.

This last edition of Salone Satellite that took place in 2017, was attended by more than 650 designers and 16 design schools took part, further celebrated by a special exhibition at the FabbricadelVapore.


Colors don't add a pleasant quality to design, It reinforces it.

Most of the designs reflected functionality such as, sliding and folding door systems, providing access to storage spaces, and how bar compartments are increasingly finding their way into the living room.

Raw geometric patterns in rugged forms showed a lot of presence in this year's collection. They were often displayed in natural materials as stone, wood, and metal.

As for the noticeable trends in colors, rich colors, especially jewel-like emerald green, sapphire blue and ruby red were prevalent, along with the palest and blushiest of pinks, which are the trending colors as per the collections presented in the fair.

Salone President, Claudio Luti went on to say: “Enormous numbers of visitors, not necessarily with links to design, have made their way to Milan to experience the thrill of this Salone and of the city itself. Thanks to the collaboration of all the institutions working in the city, Milan is even more beautiful and welcoming than ever. Milan alone can lay claim to the Salonedel Mobile and its industrial enterprises with their links to the creative and publishing world and close ties to the city. It is a stand-alone moment in which culture and industry become an international benchmark and an exemplary model for an Italy that works.
